This mod basically modifies the Elven Wand to make it a bit more of a desirable weapon. There are now four varieties of Elven Wand - each using the same ammunition. And an additional weapon.
  • Silver wand: Grey remap. Weak but fast. Starting weapon. Uses no ammunition.
  • Elven wand: Standard colour. Replaces gauntlets pickup.
  • Ethereal wand: Green remap. Highest wand damage. Slow. Uses two wand crystals. Dropped by undead warrior.
  • Enchanted wand: Blue. Fast and very accurate. Uses one crystal per shot. Dropped by disciples.
  • Super crossbow: Blasphemer sprites. Powerful but costly. Fires a large, staggered spread of centre bolts. Inaccurate but unbelievably powerful.
Give it a look and tell me what you think. The powered versions are a bit disappointing.

You should make the other Elven wands use their own ammunition, as it doesn't make sense the Ethereal and Enchanted wands use the gold wand ammo due to the color. Or maybe make the former use crossbow ammo and the latter use dragon claw ammo, just to make the colors fit with the ammo type. :yup:

I understand your decision. What about creating their own ammo types, like green and blue crystals for pickup? Or maybe recoloring the original gold crystal ammo into a multicolor crystal if you intend the wands to continue using wand ammo. :yup:

It's all about balance - I didn't want it replacing anything else too much.

This mod just reminded me of an old mod called Heretic Element Storm (or Elemental Storm). Does anyone remember it? There were multi-colored versions of monsters and some weapons from Heretic and Hexen. Each enemy and weapon had an unique element (fire, water, glass, poison, etc), so it was a very interesting mod. Too bad it was never finished, for example the Iron Lich variations and rest bosses were never finished. I enjoyed the mod back in 2009-2010 and remember seeing once at Skulltag forums that Maelstorm (the creator of the mod) wanted to remake the mod but he never did that.
