It's going to take a while. From now on I will build indoors the usual way. Starting with an outdoor space then building 3d floors inside it is too much.

Oh wow that seriusly looks interesting.. Can't wait to try that out at some point!

It also seems the Hell themed map I posted here earlier was really out of date, so I'll put up a new one when it's playable :)

Vilde, I'm trying to make a 3d floor into a door.
It seems too complex for me as I don't do much ACS :bang:

I can make one that stays open when you press "use." I can not make it go back down and stay down until activated again.
Even if I could, the door would glitch when going down if the player goes under it (I managed to make one keep going up-down forever). The texture gets misaligned etc. etc.


So I need a script that does the following:
-Opens door by pressing "use" on it (and monster bumping it) but only if the activator actor is on the right z (height).
-Stays up for 'x' amount of time.
-Checks if bottom sector is free of actors.
-If free, begins to move back down. Otherwise return to wait cycle.
-If actor suddenly moves under it, it returns to 'open' (go up) part of script so the whole thing starts over again.

I have no clue how to do it.

I think that is possible... It might even be quite simple... I'm not sure yet, but I can try to get that done myself, today or tomorrow. Not sure yet.
I'm interested about that myself so why not... You can even put two separate doors at the same position in the editor, if you disable "Merge Geometry" from the toolbar in Doom Builder xD

But yeah anyway I'll see what I can do. I'm quite good with ACS things so it's not a problem really. :thumb:

It's been so long since I posted my prev post so I have to doublepost just to say this, i've had some family issues so I havent done that test yet, I've made a testing area for it now, and soon Ishould get some results .. I just realised it's really nice way to do maps to just do a random room. Just do whatever comes to your mind. Don't link it into the actual map. Just do it, then build something from it and at some point link the random area with your map.. It's fun atleast xD

Just a head's up, my college is getting extremely busy and overwhelming. I'm going to be in a break from this project a bit while "getting my life together" for a bit.

This is not related to any problems with the mapping, everything on that has been flowing well aside from the 3d door thing.

Same here. In these couple of weeks, I will be overwhelmed with college stuff (tests, projects and exams). I wouldn't mind giving this project a try after all that stuff and having my first attempt at making a map. Are we allowed to use stuff from Realm667? Or it must be Doom stuff only? For what compatible port this project aims? Vanilla, Limit-Removing, Boom or ZDoom?

I've been actually turbo overwhelmed with stuff like seeing a woman, meeting friends (which I haven't done in a long time), doing portfolio site, doing C# things and 3D modeling... also I start workgin again as a goddamn mailman in two weeks xD I hate summers
