Good water is not possible in Doom3's version of Tech4
I have spent the last 3 days studying different water examples in Doom3 and merging their codes and.... in the end, it seems it is simply impossible to have water at all.
You can make water that seems real at first, with waviness and all, but it will reflect nothing, just a fancy trick to make it look like it's reflecting the sky
Then you can have reflective water, but it ONLY works if the water is always below the player's feet, otherwise the reflection completely glitches
Also, you can have a simple wavy shader to fake a liquid being there, but it will have no reflection or color
Lastly, you can have a wavy shader with a tint of blue or any color, and that seems okay
I am just really upset, I want to make a map with water, and I need the water to not look so crappy
