A brand new Quake editor called TrenchBroom has just hit the World Wide Web!
Their are some really cool features about this editor that make Quake maps easier to create. It has a very precise vertex manipulator, making the creation of hills and rocky terrain much easier. It's also very easy to setup your file locations and texture wads.

I would say my only complaint so far is the 3D mode only. It needs to at least have a small 2D grid window to work in. It is also hard to tell where you are actually placing brushes and entities since their is not even a grid in 3D mode!

Overall, I think this editor will definitely spark some small community maps for Quake.

Woah, that looks awesome :)

Definitely needs a 2d view in there as well, like you said. It's hard to be precise when it's only 3d and with no grid.

I'm lost in now knowing what to do. I get the urge to do Doom stuff but also Doom3 stuff but also Rage stuff now, since now its mod tools are out. There is too much cool stuff to make a decision :|

I just wish it was more like Doom Builder, but it is not currently possible!
