Depends on the difficulty really.

Doom1 and 2 are very easy for gamers of today, it's easy to beat them fast. I assume DOOM will be much more difficult, judging from Rage's "Ultra Nightmare" mode and Wolfenstein:The Old Blood's highest difficulty. That one was like being kicked in the groin.

Well the nightmare difficulty is still damn difficult even for Doom 1 and 2, unless you play at UV, then I'm sure every Doomer should be able to complete them without too much trouble. The only frustrating levels are E4M2 and E4M6, which are both made by Romero. If you count Final Doom as well, then let me tell you that I haven't found Plutonia that hard as some people say but I did find two levels from TNT frustrating as hell, such as MAP09 and MAP27. I'm not kidding, I found some TNT levels harder than Plutonia. :yup:

Perhaps 13 hours the second time you play - after having run around in circles for ages the first time.

From the E3 videos, it looks a bit like that.

From the E3 videos, it looks a bit like that.

E3 demos are made specifically for presentation though, keep that in mind. They aren't made to show a faithful detailed representation of the product.

Their latest campaign trailer does a better job at showing the spirit of the game. However it still doesn't make level design a focus.

We'll just have to wait and see.
I pre-ordered it, so I could always share my experience here and even draw little maps of what the levels are like.
