 Post subject: Is possible to make a game in XWE like FreeDoom?

I think it's possible by replacing existing lumps. But does anybody has a suggestion which game i can make with this. I think it will be fantasy genre game like Heretic \ Hexen! So anybody know sound\graphic resources for textures\flats\monster\weapons\decorations DOWNLOAD???

So, edit the lumps in XWE then merge the pwad into a mod with Deutex.
Ideas? No idea!

So you want to edit the wad files to make your own game?

If you don't want to make your own resources then you can find alot here:

Go to the stuff in the list in the side, like "Bestiary" and stuff. Basically it's different monsters people have made, and items and weapons and so on. You can use them for your projects.

I don't like them in my Doom games, but they'd be pretty cool used for something new.

Well, I have this theory that because Doom4 is coming, loads of people will stop caring so much about modding classic Doom.
Spoiler:
Assuming that Doom4 will ship with an editor, like Doom3 did, people will hop onto modding Doom4.

The only reason that people didn't get into Doom3 modding was that Doom3's engine (idTech4) was meant for small corridor maps, and that's not what people want, people want to make huge maps with outdoors, like classic Doom.

In fact, lmfao, we are BARELY beggining to understand large outdoors in Doom3, with a group releasing the first megatexture demo for Doom3, which only looks decent... though not Doom3 quality.

So yeah, I think classic Doom forums will get more and more empty as time goes on.

Besides, in case you guys haven't noticed, there truly aren't that many people on the forums. Every forum seems to have the exact same members, meaning that there are only so many, and hell even the admins are the same. Yep, it's a small world with not as many modders anymore.

Hey, please be sure to update us one in a while on your progress, at least a bit, I want to see how it goes :)

On the topic of developing/modding and such, I am currently attempting to make Plutonia level 1 in Doom3 right now ...

Yeah.I how all weapons, monsters, item, textures and so on but i don't have idea for levels yet. :(

Yeah, level design is tough... it takes a long time to make even 1 level :/

I would say a good idea would be to play through some fantasy games if you have any, and get inspiration, you can even kinda "rip off" the geometry, lol, it'll look very different when you make it anyway.
